A Clearer Market Dashboard: Regime, Environment, and Rally Confirmation
The redesigned TradeRegimen Market dashboard separates the broad risk posture from the index, breadth, and rally-confirmation evidence underneath it.
August 5, 2026 · 5 MIN READ
Markets rarely move in perfect agreement. A macro model can be constructive while SPY weakens, QQQ improves, or breadth stays narrow. Compressing those conditions into one bullish or bearish label makes the dashboard faster to scan, but less useful when the evidence is mixed.
The new Market dashboard is organized around three questions, not one score.
1. What Is the Broad Risk Posture?
Market Regime combines the macro backdrop with major-index confirmation to show a Risk-On, Neutral, or Risk-Off posture. The model and index evidence remain visible beside the result, so a disagreement is shown rather than averaged away.
2. What Is Happening Underneath It?
Market Environment keeps SPY trend, QQQ trend, breadth, and the macro backdrop separate. Its Bullish, Choppy, or Bearish reading summarizes the index and breadth picture, while each driver remains available for inspection.
The rest of the dashboard adds the evidence momentum traders commonly compare against that top-level view:
- Detailed SPY and QQQ trend checks
- Market breadth and momentum internals
- Stocks showing leadership characteristics
- Leading and lagging sectors
- Market themes and positioning context
3. Is a Rally Attempt Earning Confirmation?
The new IBD Market Confirmation section tracks SPY and QQQ independently. One index can remain confirmed while the other is still in a correction, starts a new rally attempt, or comes under distribution pressure.

The tracker keeps the sequence visible instead of showing only a final label:
- A qualifying correction activates the process.
- A higher close starts Rally Day 1 for that index proxy.
- Day 4 is the earliest eligible follow-through session.
- Confirmation requires a gain of at least 1.25% on volume above the prior session.
- An undercut of the Rally Day 1 low invalidates the attempt.
- Distribution days reveal pressure after confirmation.

A Dashboard Is Evidence, Not an Instruction
A Risk-On reading or follow-through day does not predict returns or replace position sizing, entry quality, stop placement, and portfolio rules. The dashboard is designed to make the market evidence easier to inspect before traders make their own decisions.
TradeRegimen independently implements its rally-confirmation method using SPY and QQQ ETF price and volume. ETF volume differs from official exchange volume, and QQQ tracks the Nasdaq-100 rather than the Nasdaq Composite. This is not an official Investor's Business Daily market call or endorsement. TradeRegimen is not affiliated with or endorsed by IBD. Market data may be delayed. For educational and informational purposes only.
